Wadi Rum ranks Top Destination in the World for Golden Hour sunsets
We knew it! Thousands of our visitors knew it!
And now a meteorological study has confirmed that Wadi Rum is the world's top destination for 'golden hour' sunsets.
Kuoni Travel and meteorologist Mr Jim Dale from British Weather Services together analysed 165 popular sunset destinations, and ranked them based on the following metrics - light pollution, artificial brightness, sunset duration, cloud cover, rainfall, and wind - to arrive at a final "golden hour" score.
They released their study on 30 September 2026.

Wadi Rum ranked #1 in the world
with a score of 95.92 out of 100.
